T&I Engineer, Buck Brown
Buck Brown is a Transmission and Interconnection (T&I) Engineer at East Point Energy. He assists in the interconnection process required for all grid-connected projects and serves as a point of contact for interconnection-related activities with utilities, RTOs/ISOs, and service providers. Buck is passionate about renewable energy’s promise and its essential integration with the grid.
Buck was a doctoral researcher at Clemson University before joining East Point Energy. In this role, he gained experience working with the Department of Energy, North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Dominion Energy, Yaskawa Solectria Solar, and SMA Solar Technologies. His research was funded by the Department of Energy and focused on power electronics.
Buck received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University in 2021, 2023, and 2025, respectively. He has also held various teaching, tutoring, and grading positions.
In his free time, Buck enjoys spending time with his family, working out, watching and playing sports, and learning new skills.
